Breaking Cycles
Building Futures
offering dependable housing and heartfelt guidance that helps young women break the cycle and build a life filled with purpose and possibilities.
Our Founders:
Tamara O’Mara & Heather Rodriquez
One Anchor of Hope was founded out of a deep awareness that far too many young women are asked to step into adulthood without the safety, support, or guidance they deserve.
As founders, we saw firsthand the challenges faced by young women aging out of foster care—young adults who are resilient and capable, yet often left without stable housing, consistent mentorship, or a place that truly feels secure. When systems end, support too often disappears, leaving many to navigate life’s storms alone.
We created One Anchor of Hope to stand in that gap.
Our heart is to offer more than housing. We are committed.
The name One Anchor of Hope reflects our belief that even one steady presence can make a lasting difference. Inspired by Hebrews 6:19, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure,” our organization is grounded in the promise of hope that does not drift, even in life’s hardest seasons.
This mission is personal to us. It is driven by compassion, faith, and the conviction that every young woman deserves the opportunity to thrive—not just survive.
The Problem
Each year, thousands of young women age out of foster care and are expected to transition into adulthood with little to no support. When foster care ends, many lose access to stable housing, consistent guidance, and the safety nets most young adults rely on.
The Impact
One Anchor of Hope exists to interrupt this cycle.
We provide:
safe, structured,
trauma-informed supportive housing for young women ages 18–24,
life skills training, mentorship, and community support.
meeting both immediate and long-term needs,
we help young women move from survival to stability.
A renewed sense of hope, purpose, and belonging
Our Mission
To offer a safe, steady place where young women can rebuild their foundation, discover their strength, and move forward with hope toward a life filled with purpose and new possibilities.
Get Involved
Without stable housing and community supports, youth aging out of foster care face significant risksfrom homelessness and unemployment to educational setbacks and prolonged instability. Programs like One Anchor of Hope provide critical resources that change these outcomes, helping young women step into adulthood with dignity, confidence, and a real shot at success.
